JAZZ AND CONTEMPORARY MUSIC ASSOCIATE (PIANO)
 

Mr Nigel graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts with a Diploma in Music (Classical Performance), studying under Frank DeMeglio. After his Classical studies, Nigel went on to pursue a music degree, focusing on pop and jazz. Under the tutelage of Simon Zheng, Nigel studied jazz piano and harmony, and subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Music from Goldsmiths’ College University of London.

As a working musician, Nigel performs both as a solo pianist and as a keyboard player in a group. He utilizes other keyboard instruments such as electric piano, organ, and both analog and digital synthesizers in order to fulfill his role as keyboard player.

Mr Nigel has performed in venues such as the Esplanade and Victoria Concert Hall. He also has had residency performances at the Raffles Hotel, Mandarin Oriental and Harry’s Claymore. He has been fortunate to have been invited to work with veteran local groups Moodique and Tania. Mr Nigel was invited to perform in Papua New Guinea for the 2018 PNC Red Ball Earthquake Relief gala and 2019 People’s National Congress Party Anniversary Ball, performing at the Sir John Guise Indoor Stadium. Aside from his performing schedule, Mr Nigel does piano accompaniment for classical instrumentalists, choirs, and prepares students for piano and theory exams.

Mr Nigel is currently teaching Piano at Tanglewood Music School.
