MR GLADWIN PANTASTICO
CLASSICAL GUITAR ASSOCIATE
 

Mr Gladwin Pantastico obtained his Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar at the Conservatory of Music in University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines. He studied under the tutelage of Professor Ruben F. Reyes and performed as a member of the UST Guitar Quartet and Ensemble.

During his studies at the UST Conservatory, he participated in classical guitar competitions and received awards including the top prize at the University of the Philippines “Gitara” Competition in 1999 by the Spanish Embassy in Manila and 2nd prize at the Cultural Center of the Philippines National Music Competition for Young Artists 2002. In 2004, he was appointed as memeber of the guitar faculty at the UST Conservatory.

As a soloist, he has performed extensively and participated in various music festivals including the annual “UST Summer Music Camp” and International Guitar Festivals in the Philippines and in Thailand. He has performed with the University of the Philippines Chamber Orchestra and the UST Symphony Orchestra featuring Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s “Concerto in D” for guitar and orchestra and Joaquin Rodrigo’s “Concerto Madrigal” for two guitars.

His featured performances include the premiere of Dr Robert Casteels’ Chiaroscuro for two guitars, with classical guitarist Manuel Cabrera II at the Esplanade Recital Studio in July 2012 and solo guitar music by Filipino composer Danny Imson, “On Taking Changes”, at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music ConcertHall.

Mr Gladwin is currently teaching classical guitar and serves as the General Manager of Tanglewood Music School in Singapore.
